Recovering from chemical addictions is not easy – it can involve some difficult work. Many times our recovery asks us to look at ourselves and the things we value. It asks us to re-evaluate what is REALLY important in our lives.
So if you ask yourself “what is important to me?” What are your answers… Is it family ?? Friends ?? Your personal health ?? Or is it something else ?? Recovering from chemical addictions requires a personal investment in the things you value in life.
When we want something – REALLY want it. We will do almost anything to make sure we get it. Just think of your own addictions – the desire for that substance could cause you to do almost anything to get it. It is even more important, in our sobriety, that we think of “recovery as our addiction” and the things we value the most as the “pay-off” that we once believed our addictions gave us.
